Low dissolved oxygen [D.O] levels are the major limiting water quality variable in aquaculture. Critically low D.O. levels occur in ponds can cause stress or even mortality of prawns in ponds. However, chronically low D.O level can reduce growth. Feeding and moulting frequency in shrimps.
