Low dissolved oxygen [D.O.] levels are the major limiting water quality variable in aquaculture. Critically low D.O. levels occur in ponds can cause stress or even mortality of prawn in ponds. However chronically low D.O. level can reduce growth, feeding and moulting frequency in shrimp.
